As a 2-year-old Fort Loudon swept the Florida Stallion Series in 2011 before heading to the Derby Trail. The colt's skipped the Triple Crown series and scored his first graded stakes victory in the Carry Back Stakes (G3) in July of his 3-year-old year. Two races later he finished second to Willy Beamin in the Foxwoods King's Bishop Stakes (G1). For his 2013 debut, Fort Loudon took on Ron the Greek and others in the Florida Sunshine Millions Classic Stakes where he finished third before winning the Gulfstream Park Sprint Championship Stakes (G3) that February.
