A stakes winner as a 2-year-old, John Scott was sidelined from October 2009 through April 2012 with several injuries. He returned with wins in two of his first three starts before finishing second in the San Diego Handicap (G2). The Bertrando gelding subsequently won the Harry F. Brubaker Stakes at Del Mar, nearly three years after his first stakes win at the same track.
Grade 2-placed Henlopen is the dam (mother) of John Scott.
