Mucho Macho Man is a son of Macho Uno, the winner of the 2000 Breeders' Cup Juvenile. Mucho Macho Man is trained by Kathy Ritvo for owner Reeves Thoroughbred Racing. He was bred in Florida by John and Carole Rio.
On March 10, 2012, Mucho Macho Man captured his second graded stakes when he was victorious in the Gulfstream Park Handicap (G2). His first graded stakes score came in the 2011 Risen Star Stakes (G2) at Fairgrounds, which he won prior to his twin third place showings in that year's Louisiana Derby and Kentucky Derby.
Mucho Macho Man finished a game second in the 2012 Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) and posted an impressive victory that year in the Suburban Handicap (G2), which he won by 2 1/2 lengths.
