A Group 1 winner in France in 2011, Nahrain suffered her first career defeat when finishing second in the 2011 Breeders' Cup Fiully and Mare Turf (G1) in her first trip across the pond. She subsequently finished unplaced with a pair of uncharacteristically lackluster performances. Foillowing a runner-up finish in a Group 2 stakes in Ireland, Nahrain flashed her top form in winning the Flower Bowl Invitational Stakes (G1) by a half-length in her final prep for the 2012 Breeders' Cup World Championships.
