Neck 'n Neck earned a breathrough first stakes win in June 2012 with a runaway victory in the Matt Winn Stakes (G3) at Churchill Downs. He followed with a runner-up finish in the Jim Dandy Stakes (G2) that confirmed his position as a 3-year-old to watch. After a six-place finish in the Travers Stakes (G1), Neck 'n Neck rebounded with a determined victory in the Indiana Derby (G2) at Hoosier Park.
