Rudy Rodriguez worked with quarter horses in Mexico befor moving to the United States in the 1980s. Rodriguez worked his way up to becoming a jockey where he won a Grade 1 on Frost Giant before retiring and becoming an assistant for Rick Dutrow Sr. and Jr. and Bobby Frankel.
Rodriguez started training horses on his own in 2010 and has made over $2 million every year since taking out his license. In 2013, he will be represented by Vyjack in the Kentucky Derby.
