Katie Mikolay explains racing terms such paddock and toteboard in this Racing 101 segment.
Mikolay currently serves as a handicapper and blogger for Presque Isle Downs in Erie, Pa, where she is working for the fifth season. She also write the barn notes and works behind the scenes as a simulcast operator.
She has been the racing analyst at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots for the last two years. In addition to hosting the daily Churchill Downs Simulcast Network production of live Fair Grounds racing, Mikolay co-hosted the pre-race Fair Grounds Today show. She also contributes to FairGroundsRaceCourse.com as both a handicapper and blogger during the live Thoroughbred meeting and has made special appearances on HRTV and NBC Sports.
