Creating New Fans and Building a Future for the Sport: Ed Brown Society Race Day at Keeneland

04.24.2024

The Ed Brown Society was created to celebrate the contributions of Black people to horse racing in America throughout its history, to introduce people to the sport, and support those interested in making careers in the Thoroughbred industry.

In April, the Ed Brown Society, named after the 19th-century horseman who excelled as a jockey, trainer, owner, and bloodstock advisor, welcomed Black professionals and students for a special day during the spring meet. Follow along with horse owner Coya Robinson from Living the Dream Stable as she experiences a fun and satisfying experience at the races, and learn more about the Ed Brown Society from co-founder and president Clark Williams and Jaida Alee, an Ed Brown Society Scholar.
